Cloud 9 Retractable Leash

Having a retractable leash is necessary at my house. My almost 6-year-old Golden Retriever, Gavan, HAS to be leashed. The area I live in is just too rural and it is not him I worry so much about, but rather the wildlife. He gets to go out front on occasion and retractable leashes work best for that scenario. We have one main retractable leash that we use and it is amazing, but we are always looking for the perfect back up one or a new one to use as the main one. I decided to try the Cloud 9 Retractable Leash, as it did look really nice.

The first thing that drew me to the Cloud 9 Retractable Leash was the fact that it was made for dogs up to 110 pounds! My dog is just over 100 pounds. When the leash arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. It looks really nice and stylish. It feels quite solid as well. The same night I got the leash; I took Gavan out front and tried it out. Now I do have to state that I am not a huge fan of the “tape” leash, I much prefer the rope style, but with this leash, I overlooked it.

There were only two slight issues that I have with the Cloud 9 Retractable Leash. The leash is quite slow to retract. Sometimes Gavan will get playing and will run back towards me (the leash) and it takes a bit for the leash to catch up. The other issue is the handle is too big for my mother and myself. The leash is comfortable to hold, but if you go to lock it, you almost have to use two hands. The locking mechanism seems a little clunky. Overall, it is not too big of a deal, though.

Despite my small issues, I would still recommend the Cloud 9 Retractable Leash. It is great quality, looks nice, and works rather well.
