When you have a dog, there is one thing that you constantly have to have for them – food. There are so many dog foods out on the market. It can become very overwhelming and frustrating trying to figure out what would be best to feed your furbaby. I know it is something that I struggle with. I am always hearing about ingredients that are bad for dogs, foods that are recalled, and foods that cost an arm and a leg and supposedly are “good” for your dog. For me it is way too much information thrown at me.

A safe bet for my 6-year-old Golden Retriever, Gavan Riley, has always been Purina One. Gavan has never had any issues with their food. I have to say that my dog is rather resilient; rarely does he have issues with switching foods or giving him new treats. Gavan switches between Purina One and Purina Pro Plan. However, he does best when he is on Purina One. He eats his food happily, has more energy, plays more, and all around just seems to be happier. The Purina One SMARTBLEND Chicken & Rice Dog Food is Gavan’s favorite variety!

Chicken is the first ingredient in Purina One SMARTBLEND Chicken & Rice food. It is a good thing, too, since Gavan absolutely loves chicken. There are lots of vitamins and good things in the food. The food looks and smells good. Gavan has been doing great on the food. He has never been the type of dog that will eat all his food right up when you feed him and he still is not, but he does not wait as long when he is being fed the Purina One SMARTBLEND Chicken & Rice dog food. Our 4-month-old kitten, Keala Rayne likes to sneak pieces of the food, too. She will eat the chicken pieces, which makes Gavan mad, but he will let her do it.

Overall, we are quite impressed with Purina One and their dog food products. We do also purchase Purina One cat foods and wet food for both Gavan and Keala.

So good that your dog has more energy and loves the food! Mine started out on the chicken and sweet potato then switched over to the Turkey and Venison. He loves that one! It is so cute that the cat is sneaking the dog’s food. lol

It’s definitely a great thing! :D I think Gavan’s tried the chicken & sweet potato one, but he tends to go towards the chicken & rice one. I’ve seen the venison/turkey one, but I’m so weird about venison that I won’t let Gavan try it. LOL. Though I’m sure it’d be great for him or any other dog.

Yes, she’s quite the pain in the butt.

I would most definitely recommend Purina One for anyone’s dog. It’s done wonders for Gavan.

Thanks for checking out my post :)
